Carl-Zeiss, the world's greatest producer of optical Instruments. Founded in 1846 as a two-man company, it has achieved an exemplary reputation by its social reform. After a historical abstract, the documentary focus upon the aftermath of 1945, when the company was broke up by the allied occupying powers and divided in an eastern and a western part. Since then, a fierce class struggle was in the spotlight. After the German reunification, the East-company could be saved, but that mental gap between East and West, it could not be closed completely.
